Our Accreditations & Certifications
We recognise the importance of external reviews of quality, health & safety and environmental performance. We harness our management systems to help us continually deliver better projects with fewer environmental impacts.
At The Klair Group, rather than approaching certifications as a tick box activity, we see the deep value they can bring us. We have carefully designed our systems and embedded the most important elements of our management systems throughout the business. Whether related to the way we deliver quality, manage safety or reduce environmental impacts initiatives have senior management backing and review.
Ultimately we use the standards to ensure we give high levels of focus to our clients, the community, our employees, our suppliers and the environment. This holistic approach to stakeholder management sets the basis for us to deliver consistently and sustainably in the long run. The best projects are those in which we anticipate and exceed client expectations, listen to and engage the local community in our activities, retain a highly motivated and skilled team, partner in a mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers and other contractors, and take steps to preserve the local environment.
In addition to our ISO, Constructionline and CHAS certifications, we monitor our Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions closely. Although our primary aim is to reduce our emissions as much as possible, where we are unable to do so, we offset through QAS approved schemes.

PQS – SSIP Core Criteria
The Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Limited forum is an umbrella organisation which facilitates and maximises mutual or cross-recognition of Health & Safety assessments between SSIP Member Schemes. All organisations listed on the SSIP Portal have successfully achieved certification with one of our member schemes to support pre qualification stage health and safety capability assessments. At the point of assessment the organisation was able to demonstrate compliance with the SSIP Core Criteria.

Carbon Footprint
Although we take every step to minimise our emissions, we are not currently able to eliminate everything. We monitor our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and have decided that what we cannot eliminate we will offset. We use Carbon Footprint Ltd to provide the mechanism for this. We are committed to continually improving our sustainability credentials to allow us to prevent damage to both the local and global environment.

ISO 45001
ISO 45001:2018 specifies a global standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management. We are proud to utilise it to enable us to provide a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health. We set progressive health & safety objectives to support us in proactively improving our OH&S performance. Annual audits by an external UKAS accredited certification body ensures we are meeting the gold standard in occupational health & safety management systems.

ISO 14001
ISO 14001:2015 is recognised as the global standard in environmental management. It challenges us to consider the ways in which we impact the environment through our construction activities and what we can do to reduce or eliminate these impacts. We regularly audit our activities to ensure we are meeting and exceeding legislative requirements and find new and better ways of doing things. Our management team reviews our environmental performance as part of their organisational reviews and are proactively leading a culture in which decisions are made with the environment in mind.
We are audited annually to ensure we are meeting the requirements of the standard, legal obligations and our own high standards in environmental performance.

ISO 9001
The complexity of engineering projects requires well organised, repeatable and resilient processes. We have certified against ISO 9001:2015 to provide the framework against which we work. We consider each step in our service provision and map it against best practice. Our processes are intended to ensure consistent delivery, but where unexpected occurrences are realised, we have a well established process for dealing with issues and finding resolutions which leave the project in a stronger position than before. ISO 9001 helps us manage risk at the front end, and monitor performance and then take action at the rear end.
Audited annually by a UKAS accredited certification body, we have confidence our processes are robust and evolve to meet new and increasing expectations.
