PROBATE FEES

What are our fees for collecting and distributing assets belonging to a person following their death?

We offer the following probate services:

  • A
    complete Estate Administration Service, and
  • An
Application-only Service (to help you obtain a grant of Probate, or if there is
no will, a grant of Letters of Administration)

ESTATE ADMINISTRATION SERVICE

What are our fees?

Our estimated fees are between £1,540 + VAT and £6,600 + VAT.

The Estate Administration Service usually takes us between 7 and 30 hours to complete, depending on the complexity of the circumstances.

If there is a requirement for monies to be transferred by Telegraphic Transfer (TT) for same day payment there will be an additional service fee £35.00 plus VAT.

In complicated cases, these estimates may be exceeded.

Why are some cases more complex?

The following factors can make the process more complex:

  • The number of bank accounts or building society accounts
  • The number of beneficiaries

  • Whether shares, funds and or investments are owned
  • Inheritance tax

What do our fees cover?

We handle the entire process for you:

  • Discussing your circumstances
  • Preparation of documentation, including legal and tax requirements
  • Applying for a grant of Probate, or if there is no will, a grant of Letters of Administration.
  • Collection and distribution of assets to beneficiaries
  • Advising on the Estate’s tax liability (if any)
  • Advising on any variations to the Estate
  • Transfer of property

Are there additional costs?

In addition to our fees, there will be costs payable to third parties which are unavoidable.  We will advise you at an early stage what additional costs will be incurred.  The following list is a non exhaustive list of the type of additional costs that will be incurred:
